When I heard about the $1 000 000 World Cup rental I knew immediately it could only be one property: this 5 bed Clifton mansion on the market for R80 000 000 (check the umbrellas).
Now this property I've been aware of for a while. Every few months Pam Golding includes it as part of their pull out property feature. It's been on sale for YEARS. Hell I remember at least 4 years back when it was on the market for R40 000 000.
And a final thought: What's the point of renting a beach side mansion in the middle of winter?

What a good point about winter ! I suddenly realised, many foreign soccer fans may equate June with hot hankerchief-on-head wevver.
Oh yes - Cape Union Mart and Cape of Storms are going to sell out their winter clothing stock within 4 days.
Those Euro/$ toting soccer twits are in for a rude awakening.
And, little do they realise the travel distances involved in South Africa in getting to the venues.
Some of these soccer lemmings have booked and, get this,prepaid for ha ha, accomodation in towns 250km's away from the stadia.
Cretins - they're going to sleep in the minibus stuck in the traffic.
And they better hope their guest houses don't fold and run with their money before the cup even starts ha ha !
I really don't understand why they are playing in June in the southern hemisphere. Why not 4 months later or a month earlier?
Just imagine a serious Cape winter storm rolling in during one of the games? Tourists will never return!
