Used to rent in the area - a tranquil crime free suburb. Or at least ... it was ...
Sadly, the property developers discovered it and the modus operandi since has been to pull down the existing homes and then build ugly boxes.
At any time there is usually 9 building sites going on around you - this will obviously become another.
So the noise increases, the traffic disruption, and the crime. We personally had a knife attack outside our gate and a car jacking - someone also shot a burglar in his house down the road - the walls and electric fences got ever higher. The rich started erecting guard boxes on the pavements. I was back there not long ago and apparently everyone is getting hit by burglaries.
Very sad. it used to be a magic area. Greed has destroyed it.
Incidentally, the cleverly positioned photograph hides the monster house behind, that towers over the property. That used to be a small empty corner plot I thought you would be able to fit a small cottage on - instead this monster house was built which has since changed hands 3 times since.
For what it is worth, Mrs Remax (their big cheese and the woman in the photo of their ads) lives just up the road.
The ugly house owner has been trying to sell for most of the decade - he didn't want to drop his price so thought if he waited long enough a sucker would come along. Last time I checked he had actually reduced it down to 10m, I seem to recall, from 14m.
Be interesting to see what it does on auction. I am sure the neighbours can't wait for more builders. The houses on the right will then have builders to the left, the right AND across the road. I would advise them to get a fierce dog but the guy who shot the burglar had the most vicious hound in the area.
I still have a soft spot for the area but sadly, the magic has long gone.
A moving post, If I moved into that house, I would actually be very grateful. I would hire professionals and turn it into the best. Moving into a home similar to that would change alot for my family and I.

One thing though. If Malema and his tsotsi gang comes, this guy will be the last man standing.
The pics from the inside and deck doesn't look too bad. A bit of paint and an interior decorator and you're sorted. A styling pad for a bargain
Just don't look up when you drive into your driveway :)
This blog have been helped me to know more details regarding the sell property issues and their benefits.
