Thank You Telkom

Well it took over two weeks but eventually Telkom reconnected my ADSL. We'll be back in action shortly.

Thought you went a bit quiet ... my ADSL was down most of today thanks to Telkom again ... don't you just love them.

Got a 12 hour battery that kicks in when Eskom fails (like last week) - now thinking of getting a switch that automatically relays over to a wireless signal when Telkom goes down - the things one has to do to get continuous broadband !

hehe, i thought the same thing...

prices in my area of interest are definitely in the down trend, just wondering how low it will go/when to put an offer in.

Nortic,

See my post yesterday on the Moneyweb property forum - some Irish economics prof has discovered a formula that shows how far property booms consequently fall and how long they take - SA is looking at 6 to 10 years to bottom after peak I am afraid ... more facts on my Moneyweb post - blogmaster, feel free to reproduce it on CT property bubble as a guest post if you want - I think your readers might find it interesting - it got lost a bit on Moneyweb because the bulls went a bit psycho
at being presented with such devastating news!!!

Noticed in my local weekly paper that house prices are UP 17% from this time last year (June). Yeehaa, except they also mentioned that prices are down 25% (!) from last month (May) and volumes are down dramatically as well. Was the NCA the straw that broke the camels back? Could May 2007 be the official inflexion point? Let's wait and see...

HI Ursa

Those figures sound very strange ... SA stats all round are rather unsatisfactory to those of us trying to figure out what is going on. That is why it is so much easier to explore the overseas situation because there is just so much more info available.

Missed you over at Moneyweb recently - the Joker is determined to sabotage the site with his dozens of boring repetitive one line posts. I took him on at his own game to demonstrate the pointlessness of what he is doing - take a look, it is a mess. I put a letter at the top to explain what is going on and suggest people write to the editor with ideas on how to prevent such abuse.

The guys determined to swamp anything the bears have to say. Will be a shame if an idiot like him is allowed to stop the exchange of ideas.
