Agency Shenanigans in Hout Bay

From the Sunday Times:
Facebook entries claimed Perkins took sensitive data from Anne Porter.

"This is correct," said Porter. "Debbie Perkins did steal the database from Anne Porter Properties' Hout Bay office and installed it on a Lola Kramer Properties computer. On March 15, we obtained an Anton Piller order from the High Court in Cape Town to search the Lola Kramer Properties premises. The data was found during this search and deleted. The matter has been settled out of court."

Lola Kramer, however, hit back, saying Perkins was taught to manipulate the copyright of digital showhouse pictures while employed by Anne Porter.

"The dispute between the two companies has been settled, with no damages claimed," she said.

Estate agents and developers blaming banks for the property slump:

http://www.fm.co.za/Article.aspx?id=144617

I like the comment about the banks valuing properties at 10% - 15% lower than asking prices. Perhaps this means that banks feel that property is overvalued.

Another comment says that buyers and sellers are negotiating with the result that the price is lowered. Must be the fault of the banks or perhaps the banks are justified in their lower than asking price valuations...

Duh of course banks are the spoilers.

They had their fun in 2003 - 2007 but now I guess they are no longer keen to lend out a R1 million of their clients money to fund a depreciating asset.

What depths won't estate agents plumb to shill a profit these days?

Of course it was settled out of court - imagine all the dirty laundry being aired in the public space!

I've always had a problem with the estate agent "profession" because it doesn't seem to be much of a profession. The barrier to entry is very low so it attracts the wrong crowd. Also, in most professions you have a strict code of conduct and will be struck off the register for doing anything fraudulant.

No wonder people like me have such a low opinion of these people.

Estate agents are bottom-of-he-pond scum, simple as that!

That they help dictate decision-making in what is many people's biggest ever purchase is nothing short of criminal

Hang 'em high!
