Todays conversation starter is on the proposed new Amalfi development in Mouille Point. From an email:
Which stupid (wealthy) person will pay 4.5m for a 100sq meters 1
bedroom apartment when the going rate for a fully furnished 2 bedroom
apartment in the best blocks beach road is only 10,000 per month!!

Add the 2500 per month levy to the 4.5m purchase price as well!!

What about parking bays ?

Never mind Amalfi... when are they going to start building on the open pit next door to Newport Deli?

I know the people that used to be involved in the old Amalfi and they are still chuckling at the palookas that bought it for development.

Not even a sniff of a sale so far...

I've never understood the attraction of Moooolie Point. It always stinks of rotting seaweed there. But each to their own I guess.

Looks like there have been 9 "presold" already for a total of R60m! That's an avg of R6.67m per flat!

Any article that uses the terms "apparently notched up sales" and "well-heeled buyers who have snapped up"
will have been written by a Pam Golding PR hack, with whom you probably share an employer.

more likely 3 were "have been snapped up" as part of deals with the developers. poor suckers will get nothing if another 20 suckers are not found soonish.

Now is the time to get a foothold in this development ASAP! There are only 2 left... er 20... er well there a shitloads left but that is besides the point! It's in Mouille part darlings and deserves the 4000% markup on cost. So get your well heels out and your dusty cheque books and start scribbling down those zeros! NOW!

Hey Mouille Point is not that bad.
pricey, sure but got a lot of things going for it.

Steve there is no doubt it's a great place to live and many people would love to there.

But the issue here is 4.5 bar for a 1 bed flat with a huge levy. That's not value for money in anyone's books.

Is the Amalfi footprint even legal?
